FAQs

Where do you service?

The Growing Cycle offers garden care by bike around northside Naarm/Melbourne. We provide service in and around the suburbs of Thornbury, Preston South, Coburg, Northcote, Alphington, Fairfield, Brunswick, Brunswick East, Clifton Hill and Fitzroy North.

Do you bring your own tools?

Yes. We have carefully crafted our toolkit and e-bike rig to be able to carry the tools you would expect of a gardener. Lawn mower, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower, ladder, rake, broom, you name it we have found a solution to carry it on a bicycle. That said, we may not always have each tool available at each visit. This is why we ask for a detailed work description when booking a job as it helps us to plan tool availability on the day.

How do I select the right service?

A first visit can give us a good indication of which package will be the right fit moving forward.

As a starting point, we typically recommend a Half Day package for a residential block and a Two Hour Blitz for smaller townhouses. This will allow us some time in your garden to get plenty of garden work completed and also become familiar with the garden elements and consider the care they require. From here, we can agree upon a package and devise a schedule.

If you are after regular mowing, we require some detailed photos to quote accurately.

In all instances, please proceed to ‘Book Now’ and we can assist in your selection.

Can you remove green waste?

At this stage we cannot provide a green waste solution. We can make use of your green bin or compost pile, leave green waste in bags or boxes, or make recommendations for a third party service. We prefer to use garden waste as a resource, for example composting leaves and lawn clippings or cutting branches smaller for kindling and backyard firewood.

Do I need to be home?

No. If you are comfortable communicating via text message/email then we can work with that. With many now working from home, it is advised to be available on the first visit so you can point out priorities, give instruction about access and any other questions/concerns. We do not accept property keys, instead opting for lockboxes or combination padlocks to gain access.

How do you take payment?

Our preference is bank transfer on the day of service. We can provide bank account details or PayID.

We also accept cash or card payments. However, we do not carry cash change. Card payments incur a 1.9% fee which we pass onto clients.

Regular clients can authorise a card on file for payment ease. This incurs a 2.2% fee.

This is cool. Can I work with you?

At the moment it is a one person operation. Well, one woman (Anna, head of operations) and her dog (Sprout, head of marketing/part time model). We love to hear from anyone excited by what we are doing. Please shoot through a message.
